You can legally consume cannabis in New York City in private residences, in designated cannabis consumption lounges (where available), and in certain outdoor spaces where tobacco smoking is permitted. However, you may not consume cannabis in hotel rooms (most hotels prohibit this), in any vehicles, or in any public spaces where it's not explicitly permitted.
