We are Silly Nice — a Black-owned, Veteran-owned, LGBTQ+-owned, family-run cannabis brand founded right here in Brooklyn, NYC. Our founders, Shane Breen, a U.S. Army Veteran, and LeVar Thomas, have been partners for 25 years and built this brand from the ground up with love, craft, and a deep respect for cannabis culture.

New York State legalized adult-use cannabis in 2021, and since then, a growing network of licensed dispensaries has opened across the city and state. Here is what you need to know as a visitor from Morocco:

You Must Be 21 or Older

Cannabis is legal for adults 21 and over only. Every licensed dispensary in New York will ask for valid identification before allowing you to browse or purchase. Your Moroccan passport is completely acceptable as valid ID — just make sure it's with you every time you visit a dispensary. No ID, no entry, no exceptions.

Licensed Dispensaries Only

Only purchase cannabis from licensed, regulated dispensaries. There are still unlicensed vendors operating on the streets and in smoke shops — avoid them entirely. Licensed dispensaries carry products that have been independently lab-tested for potency, pesticides, and safety. Where You Can and Cannot Consume

You may consume cannabis in your private residence or in licensed cannabis consumption lounges. Public smoking — on the street, in parks, near schools, or in hotel rooms — is prohibited and can result in a fine. If you are staying in a hotel, check their specific policies, as most do not permit smoking or vaping indoors. Please also never consume cannabis and operate a vehicle or any form of transportation. Plan ahead, stay put, and enjoy responsibly.

Your Moroccan passport is accepted at every licensed dispensary in New York. Bring the original — not a photo on your phone. Budtenders are required to verify your age and identity before every purchase, without exception.

Cash or Card

Most licensed dispensaries in New York accept both cash and debit card. Some may charge a small ATM or processing fee for card transactions. It is always smart to have cash on hand as a backup. Dispensaries do not accept credit cards due to federal banking regulations.

You can ask questions, request to see lab results, and take your time. There is no rush. Purchase Limits

Adults 21 and over may purchase up to 3 ounces of cannabis flower or up to 24 grams of concentrate per transaction. For most visitors, this is more than enough for an entire trip. Please also remember that while cannabis is legal in New York, it remains federally regulated — do not attempt to travel internationally with any cannabis products.
